GRANTS FOR 2008
In 2008, the Nanaimo Community Foundation received requests for grants totalling $201,569.86. All were worthy for consideration as all are worthy groups doing such wonderful work in our community.
We wish we could have done more but our funds are limited. After careful consideration the Board of Directors is please to report that the following grants were approved for 2008.
- $25,000.00 ... Canadian Curling Association on behalf of Nanaimo Curling Club to assist in paying for an elevator to open their activities and facility to persons with disabilities.
- $16,500.00 ... Ladysmith Historical Society for the purchase of much needed storage and displays for their new facility.
- $3,500.00 ... Nanaimo Telephone VIsiting Society to purchase hardware and software to develop their information web site.
Total grants issued for 2008 ... $45,000.00.
