History...

The Nanaimo Community Foundation has supported many fine organizations and worthwhile projects in our region.  Since 1982 the Foundation has granted more than one million dollars to help make our Community a better place for all to live.

Over the years, the Foundation has had to revised how it granted funds as the Federal Government imposed more regulations on all Foundations. Organizations that the Foundation once was able to support is no longer allowed to support. Due to regulations, all grantees must now be Federally registered charitable organizations. Unfortunately, this leaves the smaller local organizations unable to participate in our granting process.
