About the Foundation...

Change is inevitable. Institutions rise and fall, economies shift, governments change, technology grows, but one constant is that there will always be a need for community infrastructure; needs that will enhance our community and support the people in it, and the Nanaimo Community Foundation will always be there to meet those needs!

The Nanaimo Community Foundation has supported many fine organizations and worthwhile projects in our region. Founded in 1982 by the Nanaimo Branch of The Associated Canadian Travellers, the Foundation has granted more than one million dollars to help make our community a better place for all to live.

Donations to the Nanaimo Community Foundation can be made in many ways. Usually, gifts are bequests of money or assets in a will. However, the Foundation will gratefully accept gifts made during the life of the donor. 

All donations are held in perpetuity; only the interest is spent on worthwhile community projects.
